Take a look at this. These torsion springs are connected by a common wire form configuration made from stainless steel wire being #manufactured on a CNC wire former. These machines can save a tremendous amount of processing time. Each bend in the wire requires set up time. If this part could be manufactured by hand (and that’s a big IF) every bend and trim would require a manual operation. The CNC combines these operations into a smooth process that can save 10x or more in time. CNC machines also improve quality by producing parts that require consistent repeatability. SPC (Statistical Process Control) charting is another tool used in the process to ensure the CNC is running the part consistently to the customers’ specifications. #quality #manufacturing #cnc #efficiency #machining
