At Katy Spring & Manufacturing, we’re a proven leader in the production of high-quality extension springs. We engineer these springs to meet all customer requirements for initial tension, force measurements, size, length, outside diameter, hook stress, deflection, and end type. We can produce drawbar and garter-type extension springs that feature end types such as short hook, extended hook, side hook, loop, assembly, crossover, tapered, and eye. They’re made with left or right helical directions and are fabricated using wire diameters as small as 0.006″ and as large as 0.625″.
Our extension springs are fabricated from a variety of non-ferrous metals, high-nickel alloys, carbon steels, and stainless steels that meet all ASTM and SAE standards. This also includes oil-tempered, blue tempered or annealed, hard drawn, and music wire steel. We can work with materials such as brass, bronze, Duranickel, Inconel, Monel, Rene 41, chrome vanadium, and stainless steels such as 302, 304, 316, and 17-7. Our springs can be subjected to a variety of conditions thanks to our wide range of finishing processes that promote surface protection and mechanical strength. We can surface finish springs with black oxide, phosphate, tin, electro-polish, powder coating, zinc plate, Rustban, and paint.
